National Coffee Growers Congress: In search of greater benefits for Colombian coffee growers


On December 4, 5, 6 and 7, the 85 th National Coffee Growers Congress will be held in the city of Manizales; it is the first time in 90 years that the meeting will take place out of Bogotá, and the Caldas Coffee Growers Committee will be the host on this occasion.
This year, the National Coffee Growers Congress will address renovation of the country’s coffee farming as main issue. In addition, this meeting aims at proposals that enrich guidelines to achieve profitability of the coffee institutions making up this important guild on the social, environmental, and economic dimensions, which represent greater benefits for the Colombian coffee-growing families.
In addition, at the most important annual event of the Colombian Coffee Growers Federation, the 90 delegates of the 15 departmental committees will visit the freeze-dried coffee factory Buencafé to welcome Christmas by switching on the traditional eco-friendly lighting.
